Thursday Favorite Things

Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things!

I can't believe that it is Thursday Again. Boy, these weeks are flying by. Hurricane Barry came today and brought with it lots of rain. The temps dropped although it was still sticky but at least it was cooler - 89 instead of the high 90's. I'll take it. Has your weather cooled off or is it still hot?

Check out my wonderful features and then link up your posts. Have a great day.

  1. We have actually cooled off a little bit too! We needed the break. It will heat back up soon enough though!
Sharing a cooler supper today with "Grilled Cheeseburger Salad", my weekly "Happenings on the Homestead" and "How to Freeze Fresh Corn". It has been a great year for corn so I am putting some up to enjoy all winter.

    Thanks for hosting!

    1. Melissa,
I am glad you cooled down too. We have to take what we can get, right? I love your cheeseburger salad. I have made hamburger salads but I just break it up and put it on the salad. Great tips on freezing corn. I will have to try that.

    1. Irene,
How lovely mid 70s would feel. I am jealous. Your Black Currant Compote looks yummy. Your friends and family are going to love receiving that when you travel. It is amazing what you can find at Costco. They won't have your compote however.
      Have a great weekend.

  4. Hey Bev! I hate that the summer is flying by so I am doing my best to slow it down by staying present and not getting caught up in worries over the future. Thanks so much for your time and willingness to host TFT each week - as a blogger, I know how much discipline and commitment is involved. I'm sharing a super easy summery salad recipe at #74 and chatting away in the kitchen. Hope you like, and hope your summer skies stay clear this week (or overcast if you need some relief from Mr. Sun!).

    1. Michele,
I love your posts. You spend so much time on them. You images are amazing and you always shared so many lovely stories. I just throw up my posts and hope for the best. I am usually so busy that's all I can do. See, I am even late in responding to comments from my TFT party. Your salad looks so yummy, pinned and shared. I loved your play list, I knew all of those songs. Yikes, I am getting old. Keep giving us your wonderful and heart warming posts.
      Hugs,
      Bev

    1. I just wanted to say you look great in your new skinny jeans. You must be so proud of yourself for losing the weight and keeping it off. I liked all of your salads and need to check out the Skinny Girl dressing.

Thank you for hosting! I am sharing at #109 this week. I made a bead garland from a free throw away trivet.

    1. Lisa,
As usual, you never cease to amaze. Who would have thought that that broken trivet could produce a lovely beaded garland - only you.
      Have a lovely Sunday.

  8. Hi! Yes it totally seems like it's flying by. But I've had a chance to do lots of fun things with my daughter so I'm just loving it (even though summer usually isn't my favorite season). I linked up #111 and #114 today :)

    1. Suchot,
I always love the summer time but it just flies by too fast. I love those lavender scones. I have always loved the smell of lavender. I find it hard to get fragrant lavender here in Florida. I had many plants up north and dried it and had it everywhere.
It is so nice to have plants that you can use in cooking or baking.
      Enjoy your Sunday.
      Hugs,
      Bev

Sounds like you had a lovely trip to N.C. They do have some wonderful sculptures.
We did cool off a little yesterday which was very welcoming.

  12. I'm spending time taking care of our littlest grandson as my daughter and her sweet 15 year old went to NYC, Madison Square Garden for a concert for Victoria's birthday gift. The weather in this neck of the woods is warm, like the end of the Summer, simply perfect !
Thank you sweet lady for been so generous and supportive, I so appreciate it and you sure made my day ! Can't wait to take my feature button home too.
    Love always
    Fabby
