Candy Cane Decor in Minutes

Do you ever find yourself wanting to make a simple but lovely Christmas decor but don't have much time? Who has time this time of year, right?

Well, that was me yesterday. I wanted something, but had no time. I was cleaning my pantry (hoping to find room for baking supplies) when I found some candy canes. They might have been from last year. Yikes! They were still wrapped.

What could I do with them to make them better and a pretty display as well.

Decorating cloudy old bottles

Do you have any old bottles that no matter how you clean them, they will not come clean? I have lots of those. I must admit, that I love them and use them the way they are, but if you would like to make them look better, then I have an idea for you.

When you are done, yours could like this these.

These bottles were easy to update using four materials, not counting the bottles.

Dressed Up Dollar Tree Bells

Only 4 more days until Christmas. I hope you have all of your shopping done. Mine is finished and wrapped and under the tree. Yeah! We arrived at our other house last night and finished up some last minute decorations. I am sharing  another Christmas decoration on the cheap. You saw a sneak peak of it hanging from my wire baskets.

Knotted Burlap Christmas Wreath

I was trying to decide what type of wreath to make for on the deck, hanging from the old window. I wanted to use materials that I already had so I looked through my stash. I had made a "burlap tied knot " banner for the 4th of July, if you missed that tutorial, you can find it here. So I thought I would try the same technique but only put them on a straw wreath instead of a banner.

Merry Christmas Everyone !

Well, Christmas will be here in a few days. The weather has turned cooler here in Florida - in anticipation of Christmas. Maybe it will snow? Oh, well, just kidding.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope that your time with family and friends is enjoyable. Make sure to give extra hugs. I am sure I will be enjoying my family gatherings.

Christmas Tree 2012

I love putting up our tree since it gives me a chance to look at all the bulbs and decorations and remember where they came from. I still have ones from my children when they were tiny. Since they have their own children now, I get new ones from the grandchildren each year. Then there are those that we purchase on a trip as a remembrance.  We get a new one each year and it is great to remember that particular vacation. It's just one of our traditions.

I have enjoyed "visiting" with all of you and thank you for visiting with me. See you in the new year.
