Thursday Favorite Things Linky Party

Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things!

Happy Thursday everyone! I hope your week has been great.  We are driving to Pittsburgh, PA today. I used to drive this all the time but lately we have not driven and I am not sure how much I like driving with three dogs. So far they are being very good but 13 1/2 hours is long and that doesn't include stops.
I want to see my Mom who is 94 and still going strong and my little sister. They are supposed to have cool weather so I am looking forward to that.

  2. Mornin, Bev. How great that you'll get to experience some cooler fall weather and see different scenery along the way! So happy for you, and hoping those poochies cooperated. I'm sharing fun ideas with fall pears at #40, a recipe I created for a plus size apple cider donut at #41, and encouraging quotes to lift the spirit at #42. I appreciate you considering them and honoring so much creativity and a spirit of artful camaraderie as you host TFT each week on your lovely blog. xox

    1. Michele,
The weather has been so lovely. A little cool but nice for a change. It was wonderful seeing all of the mountains although the winding and twisting up and down them I could do without.I have vertigo so I have to be careful.
I love that apple cider donut. When I was scrolling through the postings, that caught my eye even before I knew it was you. Yummy!
      Have a lovely weekend.
      Hugs,
      Bev

  3. Bev, I regularly make the 9 hour trip back to Ohio, but I don't think I'd be able to do 13 1/2 hours in one day. Have a safe trip.
    I linked at #34 and 37.

    1. Sandra,
The trip took a lot longer than we thought - 15 1/2. We stopped often and took breaks but the last hour was tough. I would welcome 9 hours but it is only once a year.
I love you tablescape. So lovely for fall and I just drool over those salt cellars.
      Have a great weekend.

      Bev

  7. Beverly, where in Pittsburgh is your mom and sister? I live in the South Hills area called Mt. Lebanon. Hope you enjoy your visit! We are going to bee going to Open Doors Pittsburgh on Saturday to see buildings and places not generally open to the public --- rooftops, bank vaults, backstage, etc.

    1. Debbee,
My Mom is in Canonsburg and my sister is in Finleyville. I lived in Bethel Park for years. That sounds like a great tour. Especially something that is not seen by many. Enjoy your trip.

  10. Wow, 13 and a half hours with 3 dogs? I am afraid to put both of mine together in the car for a 5 minute ride haha! Well both are rescues and our female was a stray before we adopted her from a rescue. We only had her a little over a month now. She is amazing in the car but our male (we had him for a little over a year and also a rescue) is a bit anxious in the car even with calming treats. He does okay on short trips but gets antsy quick. Add that to they both like to rough house and play - yeah I am afraid to get them in the car. They might do great tho, who knows! Enjoy your visit with your mom :)

I shared 2 chicken recipes - 153 and 154. Both are in my trusty cast iron, but don't have to be.

    Have a great week!

    1. Dawn,
It actually took longer, more like 15 1/2 hours, but the dogs were great. I have rescues too, but they love to travel. They get in their beds and go to sleep. I am having a wonderful visit. I love chicken recipes and the Parmesan chicken looks so yummy. Pinned that.
      Have a wonderful weekend.
      Hugs,
      Bev

  11. That is a lot of dogs in one car 🙂Hopefully they're good travelers. I would love if we could bring my cat on road trips but cats don't usually work like that lol. Today I'm sharing #145 and #149.

The dogs did great on the trip up. I was so proud of them. My daughter use to take here cat back and forth to college - about 5 1/2 hours. He loved it.

  16. Thank you for hosting the party. The last few days got away from me and I got here too late to link any posts. But I did enjoy looking at some of the posts that were here. Enjoy that cool Pennsylvania weather!
