Happiness is Homemade

Welcome to Happiness Is Homemade!

As we begin this week, many are bracing for hurricane Dorian. I am still in Vermont but my daughter is in Florida taking care of our dogs. I wish I could be there because it is no fun when a hurricane hits.  There is always so much to do to prepare for the storm and she had to deal with our house and hers. I am wishing for prayers if you can, not only for us but for all of those dealing with this storm.

This week's Happiness is Homemade Link Party has DIY projects and recipes that will have you in the Fall frame-of-mind even if the weather is still warm where you are.

Welcome to the party. Can you believe that this is the last party in July? Where has this month gone? The weather has cooled down to 89 which is a nice change from the high 90s. We are almost done painting the house. I am hoping to get some flowers planted tomorrow before it rains. What are your plans for Sunday?

Is it a hot summer or what? We are always quite warm here in Florida but hot temps are sweeping across the country. Even Boston is experiencing high temps. It is hard to think of working outside with this weather. I can't seem to get the energy to do any projects that involve being outside. Are you lucky enough to have cool weather or are you dealing with high temps too?

Welcome to Happiness Is Homemade Link Party!

So delighted that you have stopped by. My weekend is off to a crazy start. We are having a new patio put in so we had to relocate the sprinkler system and of course the pipes are up against the wall where they will dig. We worked all day getting the pipes out and tapped off. Not what I really had on my list. What do you have planned for this weekend?

Happiness Is Homemade

Welcome to Happiness Is Homemade!

Summer is officially here and Florida has certainly feels like summer, hot and steamy. Today was 95 with a heat index of 107. Now that is hot. We are off with a bang! Yikes! Is it summer where you are?
Check out the message from this months hostess:

Hello and welcome to Happiness is Homemade Link Party 276. We've made it through Father's Day and the summer solstice. Our lovely spring and early June turned into a hot, humid mess this week. It was a good time to spend the afternoons inside scrolling through all the wonderful ideas everyone has shared. My older daughter and granddaughters arrived on Wednesday, my son and son~in~law flew in for the weekend on Friday, so we have had a full house, lots of wet beach towels, bowls of cereal, popsicle sticks, and a grand time. The girls stay through Friday and we have lots of activities planned. Hope you are enjoying your summer and love sharing your favorite projects with us here at Happiness is Homemade.

Happiness Is Homemade

Welcome to Happiness Is Homemade!

I am enjoying my visit to Pittsburgh to watch my grandson play in a hockey tournament. Although I have seen him play before, it was a special treat for my mother. She turned 94 at the end of April and I wanted her to see her great grandson play. She has never seen a hockey game and she was so excited to see him play. When the game ended, she said, "it's over already, I was just getting into it".

I also too my younger sister to the game so it was a nice family get together. We all went out for lunch later and had a wonderful visit.
Check in with Carol below for this weeks comments about the party.
