Easy Halloween Treat Bags

Cute Halloween Treat Bags!

I am always looking for cute ideas for Halloween treat bags. We have an annual Halloween party on our street and we dress up and have all kinds of food and then we all gather on our golf carts to go trick n' treating.

I wanted to make some cute treat bags but not spend lots of money.  I had some burlap left over from another project so I decided to make these cuties.

I cut mine 5 1/2 inches wide by 16 inches long. I was able to fold them in half to sew the side seems. No stitching on the bottom.

Then I used a black magic marker but you could use fabric paint if you wanted to add the mouth.

I was going to draw on eyes but found a packet of these eyes so I decided to use them.

Now it was time to stuff and add ribbon. I stuffed some tissue paper in the bag since I was not ready to make up the treat bags yet.

I also had this orange ribbon and thought it might work.  I should have taken a pic of it because it is rather sheer in places.

I did the same size and eyes for this, but cut out some felt for the mouth since I could not use a magic marker on it.

They were OK, but I decided to go with all burlap ones. They were easier and took less time to make because of the mouth.

You could use Halloween fabric or orange burlap for the bags and buttons for the eyes. So many different ways to make them your own.

Hope you enjoy my little Halloween treat idea.

    1. Pat,
Thank you for the kind words. I did want something cute, easy and cheap. I only give them to the kids on the street and that is about 40, so it was doable. You could even have kids make them up themselves.
      Have a great day.

    1. Thank you so much for the sweet comment. They were fancy enough for the kids but not over the top. They will just throw them out anyway.
