ORANGE CREAMSICLE BARK
Annie's Noms

This Orange Creamsicle Bark is kid friendly and super fun to make! Creamy, chocolatey and full of orange flavour; this is one seriously delicious bark recipe!

DIY USA Patriotic Flag Shoes
A Mother Thing

When I was a kid, we used to be able to buy the plain white canvas shoes from the dollar store for about two bucks a pair. It was how we got through the summer. They didn’t last a long time with all the running around we did, but mom just bought us a new set every few weeks, and we could wear them out with impunity. One of our favorite things to do was to decorate our new shoes in fun ways.

Cabinet Door Flag
Muchmore Creative

In my thrifting I came across a few cabinet doors, and I just had the urge to make one into a flag.  See what you think.

Work in Progress
The Journey Back

I designed this quilt.  There are some patterns.  The barns and houses are paper pieced.  Makes it easier and faster to make little tine triangles.

A Farmhouse Side Table Makeover
The Interior Frugalista

A few months ago Mr. Frugalista came home with a solid wood table that had seen it's better days.  I instantly fell in love with the old battered top and knew I could make it sing.  My intention was to sell it at the outdoor market last month.

Mompreneur on Fire

A year ago today, my mother passed.  While she was not in the best of health, her passing was a shock.  I miss her, more than one could imagine.  As the year has progressed, I realize the good in her, more than I had before. I hope to emulate these characteristics too.

How To Make Life Easier When You’re Juggling Work And Parenting
Outside The Box Mom

Are you about to return to work? Are you starting a new job or trying to launch your own business? This post has six tips to make life easier when you’re balancing work and family.

Step Stool Makeover
The Navage Patch
With the weather getting warmer and having the 3-day weekend holiday, it was indeed a great week for us. Ok…maybe “for us” might be a little exaggeration, as Greg and Barish kept complaining about the work I put them onto. But on a positive note, I realized that I am getting better at dodging questions like “why can’t we be like normal families?  like the ones who enjoy the good weather and have fun during the holidays?” hahaha…

Patriotic Pudding Cookies | Mini Chef Mondays
Finding Zest

The last two weeks have made it hard share our time in the kitchen with you. We’ve had a lot of foggy and rainy days which is a great time to bake. The temperatures aren’t too hot to run the oven and it gives us something fun to do inside. Unfortunately my kitchen has been very dark and I really love featuring bright photos with natural light. Last week we had a mostly cloudy day where the sun would tease beautiful light before being covered up again. Wes had an itch to bake something so we made a game out of trying to catch the light for photos.

I Turned The Fixer Upper Finds Into Farmhouse Decor
Petticoat Junktion

I shared the fixer upper finds from My Favorite Junk Shop earlier in the week and you guys asked to see the makeovers. Well, I already made over several of the items. I painted them white… thinking farmhouse decor style. I love the look but most of my home decor is very colorful….greens, yellows, oranges.

Carrot Cake with an Orange Cheesecake Swirl
Recipes & Ramblins

I don’t have an oven at the moment.  It has actually been many moments.  I may have to go to my middle child’s house and bake soon.  But I got to make this cake at my oldest daughter’s for Mother’s Day.  I think the idea was she wanted some carrot cake; I was there visiting; and so since it was Mother’s Day weekend I got to bake a cake at her house.

No Bake Orange Cheesecake Bars recipe topped with caramelized oranges…
Flavours & Frosting

I recently shared a Tip Hero video of their Orange Creamsicle Bar Recipe on my Facebook page that looked so delicious so I decided to make them right away. However their recipe called for sweetened condensed milk and whipping cream. I replaced the condensed milk with icing sugar (confectioner’s sugar) and used long life heavy cream that you would normally use for cooking (no whipping)… And it TOTALLY worked!

Fairy Garden Projects and Gnomes
DEBBIE-DABBLE
In this post, I am sharing my second Fairy Garden Project and this one is about Gnomes!!

Classic Seven Layer Salad Recipe
Pocket Change Gourmet
Heading to a potluck? Hosting a cookout? This Classic Seven Layer Salad Recipe is a MUST make! A crowd-pleaser for sure! It’s super easy to make, can be made ahead and feeds a crowd!

Hoosier Homemade
Many moons ago, we purchased a set of wooden firecrackers that I have been using for my 4th of July Decorating ever since. Even though the original set of Wooden Firecrackers had been repainted, it was time to give me a fresh look again.

Repurposed Old Sled into an Americana Planter
Re-do It Yourself Inspirations

The Dose of DIY group has put together some great Flag ideas for you this month by using reclaimed wood/fabrics/and/or metal. Creating a patriotic Flag project is something that can be used for Memorial Day, Flag Day, and the Fourth of July. (Or just to show our American pride!)
