Update, the house went on the market on Friday and it has been so nice to be away from it for a few days. We celebrated my father-in-laws 90th birthday yesterday and all three of his sons and families were there. The boys surprised him be coming in for his birthday. We had lots of great food and laughter. They took him golfing 2 days and he beat all three of his boys both days. I hope I am still going that strong when I am that age.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you. Maybe you celebrate or maybe you don't. I am flying today so no celebration for me just sitting at airports. I hated to leave the grand kids. It always seems as though the time goes so quickly. They were hoping that my flight would get cancelled for about a week, but that didn't happen. I am already looking forward to my next trip. It is so hard when you live so far away. In the meantime, I hope you have a great upcoming week.

Normally I tell you that the weather is warm, but not today. I am in Vermont with the grand kids and that means cold and snow. Yikes! The wind is blowing and the snow is swirling - not my cup of tea. Fortunately, I am staying indoors. I am cold just looking out at the snow, although it does look pretty.

Ash Wednesday is this week and begins the Lent season which will last for 40 days. Lent involves the dual disciplines of abstinence and fasting. During Lent many Christians commit to fasting or giving up certain foods, habits or luxuries - for example meat, cakes and sweets, alcohol, smoking - for its duration. I try to do 2 things during lent - give up sweets (which I love dearly) and read my Bible every night.

I am going Green to day! With St. Patrick's Day coming soon, I choose some awesome features that you might want to try.
I am still working on the house as we get it ready to sell. We are doing somethings that were NOT on the list, like putting in plants along the side of the house. We had some there but I didn't like them so we took them out. Yesterday, we decided to put some back. Now that bed is a little over 40 feet. We couldn't have picked something smaller to tackle and of course it is in the sun and it was a hot one today - 87 degrees. I felt like a lobster.

Spring is trying to come to south Florida. The weather has warmed up quite a bit - low 80s. Evenings are still cool so it is nice. Hope the weather were you are isn't too cold.
I haven't posted a lot lately, we are getting our house in Davie ready to sell. Lots of little things to do. I have gone through almost every closet and drawer. Purging so much. That part feels great, but trying to decide what furniture to keep has been over whelming. Going from a 3800 sq. ft house to a 2000 sq ft. has it challenges, but I am getting there. So you may not see too much from me, until after march when we put the house on the market. I will not stop my parties however.

Our annual Christmas party was great. We had around 45 people and had a lovely time. Great company, conversations and good food (even though I made it all myself lol!)
I must admit I really enjoy having this party. The house looked so nice and cozy with all of the holiday decorations and lights. Now I can enjoy the rest of the month. My shopping is done and just need to wrap a few more gifts. How is your decorating and shopping coming?

Can you believe that there is only 23 more days until Christmas? Time is certainly flying by. My in-laws flew into Orlando Saturday night. We picked them up and spent some time with them before heading home today. They are snow birds and couldn't wait to get out of the cold in Ohio.
This week is busy for me with our annual Christmas party on Saturday. I am almost done decorating - just a couple of centerpieces to make. Tomorrow I start cooking.

Thanksgiving is over and I am getting ready for Christmas. The outside is done and am beginning to work on the inside. We have my husband's annual work party on December 8th so I love getting the house decorated early. I also do a lot of my cookie baking then too and freeze some. I know that some of you (in the states) will be having a white Thanksgiving. I don't remember having snow on Thanksgiving but it must be beautiful. My son has sent me lots of picture of all the snow and of the kids sled riding. How much fun is that! I remember doing that with the grand kids last year. We had a blast but it was in December. We are cooler here in Florida but no snow.

Over The Moon Linky Party

I know that many of you are dealing with cold temp these days. But here in Florida it is garden planting time. We were able to put in our tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and zucchini yesterday. I have never grown eggplant before so I am anxious to see how it does.
I also started watermelon and carrots from seeds in a tray and then I will plant them later. I wanted to make my beds bigger so I would have more room, but I will wait until next year to do that.
