Spring is in the air - Ducks are Nesting

Don't you just love spring - flowers are blooming, grass is growing and love is in the air. Here in southern Florida, we may not have spring flowers popping up in the ground and our grass is always green, but "love is in the air".

We have these two ducks that have decided to nest in our stag horn ferns. That's the Momma.

I guess we will be having little ones one day. It is interesting because both the mommy and daddy go into the nest and sit there. They try to hide from the dogs but if the dogs see them, they bark and the ducks take off.

I think the Daddy knows that if he goes beyond our fence, the dogs can't get to him.

He actually flew up on the roof of our garage. I came back from walking and there he was. The picture looks dark because the sun was going down.

Boy can they squawk. They are so noisy sometimes that I can hear them in the house with the doors and windows closed.

They picked the stag horn fern right by the driveway where I park my car. It is going to be interesting to see how this develops.

I know that new storms are threatening the north. Hope you all keep safe and that Spring will come soon.

    1. Michelle,
That stag horn got damaged in the hurricane and lost about half of it's leaves. It was so big, I am glad it lost some of those leaves. They can get so big. My two trees in the front are loaded with them. They do have a cool nest. Sounds like you have some stag horns of your own.
      Have a great day.
      Hugs,
      Bev
