Happiness Is Homemade Party

Happiness Is Homemade Party

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far.  Everyone shared wonderful home decor, crafts and recipes last week, but only 5 are featured each week. Let's end the suspense and get to the features and party!

THIS WEEK'S FEATURES!various handmade crafts

Jenna, from The Painted Apron, upcycled a plastic canister by crafting it in the most amazing way just by using paper and paint. What a gorgeous color combination! She changed her canister from, as she says, "blah to awe!"

Debbee, from Debbees Buzz, hand painted champagne flutes with tropical birds for a wedding gift. I'm sure her gift recipient was thrilled with her artistic talent. Follow her tutorial to see how easily you can hand paint your own glasses!

Last week, Haekelfieber-Austria shared her crocheted chili peppers with us from her "Big Food Series." These colorful crocheted veggies are absolutely adorable! Follow her series posts as she shares the patterns to make these cuties.

Marsha, from The Little Yellow Corner Store, showed us her collection of seasonal porch decor. Her "bees and sunflowers" themed decor she uses for spring really caught my eye. I'm in love with her handmade sunflower pillow!

Thursday Favorite Things Party

Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things Party

Thursday Favorite Things. Share NOW. #linkyparty. #TFT #thursdaayfavoritethings #eclecticredbarn

Happy Thursday dear friends. Well I have good news to report. Hubby got his bandages off on Wednesday. I must admit, it looks terrible but the doctor seems to think it will help good although the verdict is still out on the thumb nail. Also, the end of his index finger is black and he has no feeling in it.

We are worried about it but the doctor said not to. Wait and see what happens. He will get his stitches out next Thursday.

Thank you so much for all of your kind wishes and warm thoughts. I appreciate it so much.

I am actually heading to Pittsburgh today since it is my Mom's 97th birthday. She is so excited that I am coming, me too.

Many of my features come from your comments. Don't forget to leave our Linkup Number or Post Title so I can find you and you might become one of my features for next week.

Making a Nest in a Bird Cage

Making a Nest in a Bird Cage

Spring is in the air and that means that the birds are making nest for their babies. We have had so much fun watching the little wrens make a nest in our garage.

I had this bird cage that needed some work so I put it on a shelf in our garage. I laid it on its side because it was to tall to sit up. As I was outside the garage, working on something else, I kept seeing this wren flying in and out of my garage. There were two of them and they were crying leaves and twigs. so I began to look to see where they were making their nest. (This is not the first time they have made a nest in my garage)

As I was looking around, I saw the wren fly into the bird cage. The door was somehow open and they just hoped in side.  You can see the bird just beginning to go into the cage.
