Happiness Is Homemade

It's the first weekend in June and summer is in full force. I'm so happy to have you visit our Happiness is Homemade Link Party 223. And I'm even happier to be your hostess this month. This is a busy month for our family: 3 family birthdays (including mine!!), my older daughter's anniversary, Father's Day, and family visits. Fresh Apple Cake

My husband was out of town for business in Jacksonville, Florida and brought home from his trip 6-7 Granny Smith apples from the hotel. He said, "I know you like them and you enjoy baking with them".  Now does that sound like a request for some dessert or what? 

 I have had this apple cake recipe for years but have not made it in quiet some time. I guess I just needed those apples!

My First Watermelon

I have been having so much fun this year growing vegetables that I have never grown before. We usually have tomatoes and this year they did so well. But this year I decided to plant some watermelon.
