Happy Thursday dear friends. We are still having some very hot temps here in central Florida. The rain comes but does nothing to bring the temps down. It has been a long run of hot days. The heat index is the worst - with them being in the 3 digits. Oh well, there is nothing we can do about the weather!
How is your weather this summer? Do you have any vacation plans made? We are heading to Vermont the first week in August. I can't wait to leave.

This week has been better. The 4th was nice with family. I went to spend the night with my best friend down in Miami. It had been almost 2 months since I had seen her and it was long over due. We had a nice time catching up.

Thursday Favorite Things Party

Happy Thursday friends. I have a heavy heart this week. I lost my dachshund Caleigh early Monday morning. It was so sudden. One minute she was sitting and the next she was having a hard time breathing. We rushed her to the emergency vet. They put her on oxygen but it did little good.
Xrays showed that her heart was enlarged and cancer in her lungs. They think she had a massive heart attack. There was nothing we could do. We also have Louie who is her baby. He is so lost without her. They have been together every day for over 9 years. Caleigh is on the left and Louie on the right. This was a trip to the Dairy Queen with Daddy a few weeks ago.

Happy Thursday friends. I am heading back home today. I had a wonderful visit with my Mom. It is always difficult to leave her. I wish I could bring her to live with me, but she wants to stay in PA.
I also enjoyed spending time with my baby sister. We shopped a little. I found a couple of great purses at the City Mission. You can never have too many, especially when they are brand names and practically new.

Happy Thursday friends. Our temps here in central Florida are unbelievable. I came out to get into my car and it was 105. it seems like it is very warm everywhere.
I am heading to Pittsburgh today and I am hoping that it will be cooler. I know it has been warm there too. My Mom is so excited for me to come and I know we will have a great time no matter how warm it is.

Happy Thursday dear friends. Well, I am still at the beach and having a nice time. I did spend three days down at the beach, which was a record for me. That was enough sun for me. I have been taking lots of walks and bike rides.

Happy Thursday dear friends. Well, this weekend is Memorial Weekend. Can you believe that it is here already? We are going to spend some time are the beach. Funny, because I am not a beach person. I don't like to sun bath and I can't go in the water because of my vertigo. Hubby loves so I am going and so is my daughter.
I am taking several books and some things to sew. I hope I don't get too bored. lol!

Happy Thursday dear friends. Well, last week I talked about planting flowers, which was a great idea. However, here in central Florida, it got very hot. Yikes, in the mid 90's and with no rain, they were not happy. Fortunately, yesterday it rained. They were happy. It is always surprising how rain can make a difference.

Happy Thursday dear friends. Well I have good news to report. Hubby got his bandages off on Wednesday. I must admit, it looks terrible but the doctor seems to think it will help good although the verdict is still out on the thumb nail. Also, the end of his index finger is black and he has no feeling in it.
We are worried about it but the doctor said not to. Wait and see what happens. He will get his stitches out next Thursday.
Thank you so much for all of your kind wishes and warm thoughts. I appreciate it so much.
I am actually heading to Pittsburgh today since it is my Mom's 97th birthday. She is so excited that I am coming, me too.

Thursday Favorite Things Party

Happy Thursday dear friends. What an Easter we had. Not all good. Hubby and I were working on building a console table for my daughter on Friday and he was cutting down 2 pieces of wood on a table saw. He cut the first one and was just finishing the second one and I said, get your fingers away from the side, use the piece of wood to guide it. And then it happened, the piece jumped and hit his thumb and index finger. Blood was everywhere and we headed to the emergency room.
Five hours later, they stitched his index finger but there was no sink left to stitch his thumb. They bandaged them and we finally went home. On Tuesday, he meet with a hand specialist. He said he was lucky. It took the tips off both but thought they could heal without plastic surgery. We won't know for sure, until next week when they take the stitches out and see how they are doing. It was on his left hand so he does have use of his right hand. He had a tough weekend but he is doing better. Not as painful now. It was scary, but grateful it was not worse. He still has a long way to go.

Happy Thursday dear friends. After back and vertigo problems, I enjoy going to spend the night with my girlfriend. We always have a wonderful time together and this trip was no exception. She is truly a blessing to me.

Happy Thursday dear friends. I hope your week has been good so far. I hurt my back last Friday as I attempted to get up off the ground (I was weeding a flower bed) and felt it go. It is better, but taking its time healing. I can walk, but sitting and then getting up still hurts. I have not been able to go to my Zumba classes and that has me bummed but I am sure it will be ready by next Monday.

Happy Thursday dear friends. it has been a wonderful week so far. We actually had some rain yesterday and today. It has been some time since we had any rain so it was welcomed.
It always amazes me how my plants do so much better with rain instead of me watering them. When i checked on them today, they looked great. Even my seeds popped up. What a little rain will do.

Happy Thursday. It is hard for me to realize that it is still winter up north, especially when we are having 78 degree days. I started some seeds today and cleaned all of my flower beds and garden to get ready to plant.
I was telling my sister, who is in PA and she said, "sure, make me feel bad". Like I said, I forget it is early March and not everyone is enjoying nice weather.
